Wood is an organic material, and products made of wood will always be unique. Texture directions and knots are part of wood’s nature and charm, and no two pieces are alike. Wood changes constantly and it affects the volume, color, and the wood structure. The wood will continue to change throughout the product’s life span. It’s important to handle wood products correctly.

Caring for your utensils will help then look sharper and live longer. Moreover, making sure your utensils are well mentained help keep them clean and keep you healthy!

After each use make sure you hand wash with cold or luke warm water and mild soap (I prefer Dawn). Wipe it dry with a towel and you're done.

Depending on how much you use the utensils will determine when you need to reapply mineral oil and wax. If the utensils feel dry or rough, its time for some maintenance!

For basic upkeep, periodically cover the utensil in a light coat of food-grade safe mineral oil and allow the utensil to absorb it for at least 15 minutes before wiping the execess off. Then apply a thin coat of food grade safe wax over the entire utensil, and allow 20 minutes before using a cloth/towel to buff the wax on the utensil. To save time, you can use our combination Wood Oil and Wax all in one coat, and after 20 minutes wipe and buff clean and you're done!

If the utensils gets scratched, or (against all wisdom and warnings) it goes through the dishwaster, you can lightly sand it with 150/180 grit sandpaper, followed by 220 grit sandpaper until its super smooth. After sanding then apply the mineral oil and wax treatment mentioned above. If the utensil goes through the dishwasher, you may need to repeat applying mineral oil 3 or 4 times (until it stop accepting it).
